Maternity Photoshoot Reveal
I could not experience my first pregnancy without having a maternity photoshoot. The fun part about having a baby in Winter is that you can do a holiday themed photoshoot. Instead of doing the usual Christmas tree or holiday decor shoots, I thought it would be a great idea to do a rustic glam photoshoot. We were a little late with the reveal since we had to push our original shoot. But overall, I am very pleased with how it turned out and can’t wait for another photoshoot with baby Arielle, when she arrives. The shoot was done during my 30th week so I am definitely showing but I didn’t want to wait too long to have it done. I’m glad I made that decision because I am currently in my 33rd week of pregnancy and the struggle is real. Anywho, here are the details to our maternity photoshoot reveal.

The Location of the Shoot
The location of the shoot was at the McDaniel Farm Park in Duluth, GA, which is actually 15 minutes away from our home. This location is convenient and absolutely beautiful!! If you’re looking for a rustic atmosphere without traveling so far, this is the place. It’s pretty popular amongst locals since there were 2 other photoshoots happening at the same time. But I would still consider this location a hidden gem as my photographer was not aware of the park. My husband and I found this place a couple of years ago when I wanted to have my photos taken for the beginning of Fall post on Instagram. The park has many areas to take photos like a barn, rustic truck, a bridge, and a white, southern style house. And those were what we saw due to time restraint and my ability to move around. From what I saw in the reviews, there are more attractions to explore. The rustic park along with our glamorous looks went together perfectly to give the rustic glam feel that I envisioned.
What We Wore
I had a vision for the maternity photoshoot to be elegant. So I wanted to find a gown that would compliment my bump but also exude elegance and grace. Of course, it had to be affordable! This dress looked absolutely gorgeous!!! Other colors were available but red was clearly the best choice. The color made the photos pop at a rustic location that was filled with brown, green, and orange colors. I should really consider wearing the color, red more often. The dress is from Amazon and I ordered a small as recommended. The dress was really long for my petite frame. But I love that it was super long since it gave a more dramatic affect to the shoot. I wore sneakers under my gown since it was very long and no one could see them. Plus they provided comfort when I had to walk around and take photos in the woods. I also brought my brown teddy coat, which added more elegance to my look. I can’t forget hubby, who wore a black suit and tie with a white button down shirt. He looked very dapper might I add.
The People Behind the Shoot
Iso V Photography, a small, black owned business that is ran by an old high school friend, took photos of our shoot. I absolutely loved his work from when he captured photos for my first blog post. Once I became pregnant, I knew I wanted to use him for our maternity shoot and he did not disappoint. It’s always a good time when my photos are taken by him. His wife was also a joy to be around as she assisted him and provided some music to make us comfortable. Our shoot was filled with conversations, laughs, and 90s R&B. His website is available here to check out more of his work. My sister-in-law did my make-up and it was amazing. I requested drama for my look and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I’m more of a natural kind of gal but I had to go big since it’s the maternity shoot for our first child. She is beginning her journey in make-up artistry (speaking into existence). But she is one of the only people I trust with my make-up since she also did my look for our engagement photos.
Final Thoughts
I had so much fun with this shoot but I have to give a special shootout to my husband. He’s usually not the most photogenic but my hubby came through!! In fact, he is usually behind the scenes and takes most of my photos. He looked so handsome and his poses were on point. I think I’ve rubbed off on him because our engagement shoot was quite challenging. Lol!!! You can see the excitement in his face of becoming a father. The photos turned out beautiful! My photographer did an awesome job capturing precious moments from our shoot. It was extremely difficult choosing photos for him to edit. That’s always a good thing to be concerned about, right? I cannot wait to have these photos printed on canvas to hang in our home. In that way, Arielle can see the memories since her conception. As a matter of fact, this will be one of many memories that will be caught on camera with our daughter. It’s always wonderful to look back on the good times to show to our children and future generations.

I hope you enjoyed the photos as much as we enjoyed taking them. Be blessed and have an awesome week!! 🙂
